There is something called a "bomb cyclone" unraveling throughout the east coast and upper midwest. Apparently, it's all over the news.
All I really know if that the storm has been named "Elliot," there's a harsh blizzard warning in Grand Rapids, and my flight to my family was cancelled 10 hours before it was supposed to board.
I'm thankful for the supportive and loving words of clarity from both my mother and my sister. It is so good to feel supported by those I love, with words that truly land.
I'm glad I have more time to pack and ensure my preparation to be away for a week. And I'm thankful I had time to tune into my own intentions for both the New Moon cycle, and the upcoming year.
The moon is New and in Capricorn. It is also at the point in its own orbit where it is the closest it gets to earth-- which makes it a Supermoon. So, a New Supermoon in Capricorn. My moonology oracle says: "Your hard work is paying off." I love thinking of Capricorn as the goat-- slowly but surely, he climbs the mountain. He may be taking it step by step, but each step is setting a foundation, is thoughtfully planned out, and successfully executed. I like to think of myself in this way.
I'm not a capricorn, but a lot of the planets were in Capricorn when I was born, so I think of myself as having strong Capricorn qualities in various areas of my life. I also think of Capricorn as the career sign, mostly because of its tie to both Saturn and the 10th house-- both rulers of career and status. So, this is really a glorious time to focus on any desires that revolve around your life's ambition, and where you want to be in terms of your status and career.
So I'm thankful to make the best of this extra time before taking flight to see my family, because it will be a quick turnaround from the end of my trip, to New Years Eve. And I love to set intentions on the New Moon! Plus, this moon cycle will carry through the New Year, so it is the perfect time to set any intentions and put out your desires for the year ahead.
This last year was truly magical. The things that unfolded before my eyes were astounding, exciting, invigorating, and just pure delight. Through my own experience, I know that life only gets better and better. There will always be moments of contrast, but it is the clarity of my desire that is birthed in those moments, that make the contrast so valuable. So, I am thrilled to see how this next year unravels for me, too. For I know it will be better than the last-- it always is.
